Sounds like a very bad case of cankor that has spread from his ears to his eyes. This poor creature NEEDS help IMMEDIATELY!!! Have them take him to the local Humane Society. They have vets there and will allow payments on a sliding scale according to income etc. If they don't take him to be cared for they can be charged with animal neglect, cruelty, abuse or all three!!!! It's the LAW!

THE DOG NEEDS A VET!!!!!!!! There is NO option whether they have money or not. Vomiting, diarrhea, swelling....... could be a POISON! He needs a Vet NOW!
If they don't have the money, Vets will work out a payment plan with them. BUT if he is not seen by a Vet, he very well may die! THEN they will have money problems because the Humane Society will come in and have them arrested for NOT seeking medical attention for the dog.

If you own a pet, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for it's well-being!

Make sure she does the right thing. If she doesn't, call the dog warden yourself and save the dog!

Floppy-eared dogs tend to catch various things in their ears such as flying insects, dirt and water. It sound like it could be a yeast infection. Try diluting some vinegar in water and squirting down the ear canal then take a tissue, with your finger dig out as much as you can without causing pain to the dog. You can do this over a couple days to reduce the discomfort to the dog. In the meantime you can give him an antihistamine to reduce swelling and itching. Look on www.drsfostermith.com for some very low cost medicines as well as preventatives. How long has this been going on?

Contact rescue groups in the area. Many will have funds to get the dog to the vet now, and you can repay when you can. Until he gets to the vet, keep liquids in him so he doesn't dehydrate. He might have yeast infection in his ears. Wipe out with 50/50 solution vinegar and water 2 times a day. But he needs antibiotics asap, before the infection is worse.

It sounds like the dog is suffering greatly. If your girlfriend and her family can't afford to bring it to the vet, they shouldn't have a dog!

There's no free or cheap cure for a dog that sick. I'm sure a vet will treat it on a payment plan. Or bring it to a shelter and they'll get it taken care of.

you said that he smells bad, could he have gotten sprayed by a skunk? try giving him some benedryl, dogs can take the same dose as humans, so give him the full dosage. If he got sprayed by a skunk the only thing that worked for our dogs was to go buy a douch-like summer's eve I'm no joking-it worked every time! If it doesn't clear up, you have to take him to the vet.

By the way your explaining, it sounds like he is having a allergic reaction, ask your girlfriend if she got anything new, like in the house, carpet powder, any house hold thing, also if she changed the dogs diet, Dogs are not suppose to have any type of shell fish, dogs are extremly allergic to shellfish, if she gave him shellfish you have no other choice but to take him to a vet. If it is an allergic reation keep him somewhere else until you find out waht it is. I hope he gets better.

It really sounds like a systemic infection, likely having begun with an ear infection.. He really needs to see the vet and get started on antibiotics, perhaps even IV antibiotics..the common word for systemic infection or septicemia, is 'blood poisoning'..

could be parvo which is deadly to some animals including dogs. Calling a vet and asking for advice is free. there is a site called peteducation.com that will tell you about the parvovirus more than i can. Most dogs who contract this virus will most likely die from it.

TAKE HIM TO THE VET! Sounds like he may have been bitten by something or eaten something he's had a severe allergic reaction to. If you don't he WILL die!!
Any vet will take him in for free or on a payment plan. Please take him - he's suffering..
And tell her not to get anymore pets she can't afford to look after.
