Don't slap the dog,, it could cause aggression and you could get bit.
Next time you go to the house spray dog repellent on the back of your pants.. that should stop the dog.
I have a friend who has a freakin crotch sniffing dog everyone can't stand. I think that's an easier prob because it's frontal and we can get our knees up fast enough for a fast block!

Sniffing butts is what dogs do, They just saying Hi, howdy, how are you. but if its bothering you that much, With a firm hand, Stick it towards the dogs face, kinda like a traffic cop would, and say NO.

Politely but firmly tell the owner that the dog is bothering you and he/she must make it stop. That way you avoid the protectiveness and resentment that most of us would have if someone else steps in and tries to correct our dog (the same way you feel if someone else tries to correct your child in front of you instead of asking you to do it).

B/C MOST PET OWNERS KNOW ITS NORMAL PET BEHAVIOR. ONLY PEOPLE WHO DONT KNOW DOGS GET OFFENDED. WHO CARES IF YOU GET SNIFFED? ARE SO DIFFERENT FROM EVERY ONE ELSE?
