n i mean crime as in killing, raping, all that, not the "they're illegally in here so thats a crime". anyway, why would they risk their life coming here just to commit a crime? that doesnt make much sense.

yeah theres sum real freaks among those illegals, but theyre everywhere around this world. (the freaks, not the illegals)

so do they really have a lot to do wit all the crime in this country?

Before I answer this question I just want to say that it is amazing to me that many people have this anti-immigrant mentality, yet they are not really outspoken. You don't hear people say the things that people put on this board. I feel that if you really have something to say then you should have your voices heard.

My parents came to this country illegally, along with many other members of my family. None of which have commit ed a crime. Sure, there are those that commit crimes and give illegals a bad name. However, I would like to make a point that most illegals don't want to be noticed. Why would they after having to cross the border often risking their lives, would they bring this type of negative attention (committing crimes for example) that could cause their deportation.

Someone mentioned before that a person from every race, ethnicity, religion, color, etc... has committed a crime.

Are you kidding me . Maybe some come here for jobs , to stay and become Americans . But most come for the money and the free handouts , they send the money home so when they go home to Mexico they can live very well with their family's
They don't vaccinate in Mexico like we do here , so when they cross into this country they bring diseases that we haven't seen for years . They probably brought Whooping Cough here this year . We now have TB again in this country .
The Americans that live on the border can tell you horror stories of robbery and rape , killing of animals and pets to eat , cutting of fences , destroying property . They have been shot at and chased off their own homes . I have only touched the surface . I could write you pages about what the illegals have done and cost and will cost the American people and this country . How do I know , you ask , well I have lived and worked with many and some of my family were married to illegals .

I agree with you completely. However, my veiw is that the extra crime commited here can be saved. The extra rapists, murderers, drug addicts from other countries need to keep out. Especially since they are undocumented. Foresay : A rape was commited in L.A. last night by an illegal immigrant. He shouldn't have been here in the first place. 2. He is undocumented, we have no idea what his name is or how to find him. If he is a serial rapist or even starts murdering he would probably get away clean with us only have a picture of him. The actions of these people can be prevented! It wasn't supposed to take place in the first place.

It is a crime because they are ILLEGAL immigrants! And some of them do come here to work others come here to suck the government dry!(eventhough america is in $44 trillion in debt and rising)If they want to come to america they need to do it the right way. Its not fair to the immigrants that have to wait a long time to get here legally when others just jump the border and dont have to wait at all.

All i know is I live in the middle of nowhere only a few Mexicans, and almost all of the Mexicans at my school are troublemakers, one pulled a gun on someone a few weeks ago. They constantly are bringing in drugs and stuff too.

everything is relative, young man, and even you see the light of that...and many of the crimes by illegals may not be Mexicans...people don't risk their lives to come here just to commit crimes...hehehe

The former Immigration and Naturalization Service estimated that as of January 2000 the total unauthorized immigrant population residing in the United States was 7 million. This total includes those who entered the United States illegally and those who entered legally but overstayed their authorized period of stay.

A more recent study estimated that there were about 10 million illegal aliens living in the United States as of March 2005. The study estimated that nearly 700,000 aliens entered the United States illegally or overstayed their authorized period of stay each year between 2000 and 2004. Some experts believe this is a overly conservative figure and that illegal immigrants number close to 20 million.

Some illegal aliens in the United States have been arrested and incarcerated in federal and state prisons and local jails, adding to already overcrowded prisons and jails. On April 7, 2005, the US Justice Department issued a report on criminal aliens that were incarcerated in federal and state prisons and local jails. The report contained information on the number of criminal aliens incarcerated, their country of citizenship or country of birth, and the cost to incarcerate them. Congress also requested that the Government Accounting Office provide information on the criminal history of aliens incarcerated in federal and state prisons or local jails who had entered the country illegally.

In the population study of 55,322 illegal aliens, researchers found that they were arrested at least a total of 459,614 times, averaging about 8 arrests per illegal alien. Nearly all had more than 1 arrest. Thirty-eight percent (about 21,000) had between 2 and 5 arrests, 32 percent (about 18,000) had between 6 and 10 arrests, and 26 percent (about 15,000) had 11 or more arrests. Most of the arrests occurred after 1990.

They were arrested for a total of about 700,000 criminal offenses, averaging about 13 offenses per illegal alien. One arrest incident may include multiple offenses, a fact that explains why there are nearly one and half times more offenses than arrests. Almost all of these illegal aliens were arrested for more than 1 offense. Slightly more than half of the 55,322 illegal aliens had between 2 and 10 offenses.

About 45 percent of all offenses were drug or immigration offenses. About 15 percent were property-related offenses such as burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and property damage. About 12 percent were for violent offenses such as murder, robbery, assault, and sex-related crimes. The balance was for such other offenses as traffic violations, including driving under the influence; fraud--including forgery and counterfeiting; weapons violations; and obstruction of justice. Eighty percent of all arrests occurred in three states--California, Texas, and Arizona. Specifically, about 58 percent of all arrests occurred in California, 14 percent in Texas, and 8 percent in Arizona.
