I absolutely prefer Victorian antiques over the new styles of furniture. It has so much more character. The history of antique furniture fascinates me.

I love Victorian Antiques, my only dislike is for tufted velvet furniture that is often depicted as victorian. I much prefer brocades in upholstery, with minimal tufting. Case good are all fabulous. Nothing like those pieces iced with details.

If it's comfortable, I don't have a sitting room where people go to just sit on hard, straight back furniture. I have a living room, where people go and chill out and lay back and get comfortable. Also, I can't handle the smell of some of the furniture.

I do, ............. and in fact any period or style that uses real wood and fabric, with true craftsmanship, style and quality would please me more than almost any of today's furniture. Most furniture made today reminds me of how most new cars are....... cut from nearly the same mold, and all plastic, all looking too similar. Carved wood, velvets, needle points, and brocades are so elegant and tasteful compared to factory tan manmade microfiber dual recliner- flopdown plastic table. Bleahhh.
I'll take a fainting couch over a beanbag anyday.

I love antiques because they have a story to tell and they have been somewhere that you can't go besides in books (history).

furniture, the older they get, more expensive they become...
i go for the expensive stuff...modern furniture easily goes out of fashion...antiques are timeless.

I have a house full. Patina and craftsmanship beat the crap out of pressed wood and laminates even if you occasionally have cracks and wiggly legs.
