I play collegiate baseball and we started practice 3 weeks ago. I have been doing great until the past couple of days. I am extremely sore in my legs. I stretch, eat properly, drink the right amount of water, and they are horrible sore. I don't have time to take days off since we are in practice. is there anything I can do or take?

A long question deserves a long responce. When you work out, the muscles that are being worked are actually being torn. It sounds scary, but it's actually a good thing. Your muscles respond to that by flooding your muscles with blood so it can heal. That's why your legs are so sore (they're healing). when they are finished healing, your muscle is either bigger or stronger (depending on the type of workout you do). all of what I just said is completely normal. Don't workout when you're sore, do it like every other day or two days depending on how sore you are. Eventually your body will get used to the workout and the intensity of your soreness will lessen to a bareable degree. I hope this answer helped and made you more comfortable.

Soreness comes from use of musles that haven't been tested.

Make sure your body gets all the necessary things to keep it fit and healthy, stay away from additives and drugs.

When I get sore, I generally try working a little harder.

Sounds crazy, but I have an Aunt who constantly complains about stiff neck or spasms, and she doesn't work for a living.

You probably have been over doing it. Taking tub baths with Epsom salts might help. And drinking a glass of water with teaspoon of baking soda has been know to work.

I think a long hot soak in the tub/jacuzzi is called for. You can also take Tylenol to help reduce some of the pain.

Your muscles are trying to heal, because when you're that active with sports your muscles will tear then reheal themselves.. take a nice warm bath, some painkillers, and get sleep!

Re-hydrate and a good soak afterward would help.
