Obviusly, in some cases the owner is the dog trainer too. The owner does a big job, because he/she spents his/her time teaching things to the dog, taking it to the studio... whatever. So, a dog is a part of the belongings of a person, even if it was an animal, the law sees it as property of the owner.

Most of the time it is not an owner, but a business that specializes in providing animals that are trained for screen work. They get paid!!!!!

I heard on tv that dogs do get paid, but it's a lot less than people get.
