I'm in high school, and the pressure or school and this coming year scares me to the point of tears. I'm taking a few advanced courses, and just hearing about them is making me nervous. That and the pressure of sports, my parents, and the need to keep in touch with my friends while finding some time alone for myself is hard. I frequently get this "get out now" feeling when I'm uncomfortable, and I don't know what to do. I only really have one friend who I can talk to about this, and I dont want to load stuff on her. Please help me! I cant keep going around feeling this need to cry!

sometimes life gets hard. if you feel overloaded you really should make some changes. talk to your parents and tell them how you are feeling. depression is a very serious mental illness and is nothing to blow off. some signs are as follows.
crying
wanting to be alone
loss or gain of appitite
guilt
anger
no energy
suicidal thoughts or actions
bad thoughts
there is so much more if you feel this is depression and not just typical anxiety you should talk to somebody. school councelor, parent, doctor, or an adult you trust. it wouldn't hurt to confide in someone just to make sure. if it is depression there is help. i wish you good luck and hang in there you will be just fine.

Sounds like you are on overload syndrome which actually could be the begining of depression but not neccesarily. Find out what is putting so much pressure on you and take a load off. If it is just everyday things then yeah, seek treatment.

cry, see if you can talk to a social worker at school, perhaps drop an activity. Over loading will make you pay less attention to things you can do well.

take things off your schedule until all that is left is family and friends. once you are comfortable with that you can add what you want only what you can deal with without being stressed out. you are the master of your destiny. good luck and be brave.

I don't think you have depression. But I do think you have anxiety- which can be treated with something like Zoloft. Talk to your doc.
