What you need to do is back off a bit. Nothing is going to drive your boyfriend away faster than forcing him to divulge every little tiny detail about his life to you. no one likes to be under the microscope like that. I think most people are curious about their partners past relationships - - but you need to let him tell you about it when he's ready. Don't hound the poor man! Just because you're ready to divulge all the dark secrets you have doesn't mean he's quite in the same place. If you value his company and the relationship - ease up. He'd be more likely to talk to you if he felt like it wasn't going to turn into a police investigation every time. . .

If he still feels wounded by his ex, prying into details when he is not ready to share them will only alienate you. Typically, guys do not share their feelings, they guard them. If you have ever dated anyone that is malicious, callus, and mean; you will find out that if you are open with them and tell them what bothers you, they will use it against you. They will push your buttons to make you angry just out of spite. Your only protection is not to let them know how aggravated it makes you so they will get bored and try something different and less aggravating. The only way he will open up is when he is ready and can feel he can trust you. Pressing the issue won't cut it.

You just get quiet also. Wait him out, and make him say the first words, and when he does, listen as what he says will be what he is thinking about.

Either that or when he gets quiet, stomp on his toe, and he will talk to you.

stop asking questions about his ex! you may find out something that you truly do not want to know...he is with you now, forget her. you are in the top spot.

some men are naturally quiet. men do not talk about their feelings like women do.
