Similar to the ones in NYC. With monthly rents, not condos.

and NOT housing projects.

I'm asking this because people have told me that rochester is composed of the financial downtown buildings, the warehouses, and the suburban style 2-story + attic family homes.

I live in Rochester. No high-rise apartments. No need--there are enough available and nice rental properties in the suburbs and near downtown.. The population density is such that high rises are not necessary.

There are high rise apartments in NYC. Acyually that is what most are because of the limited amount of space. These so called high rise apartments are actaully homes that people take mortgages out for. They can range from 80 thousand to 2+million dollars. They are also for rent but good luck. Rent starts at 1000+ per month that could get you a 600 square foot studio apartment

There are some mid-size buildings, nothing on the scale of New York, but what you have been told is more or less what we saw when we visited.

We wrote a travelogue about our experiences, which is on our web site: http://www.thetravelzine.com/zinextras_rochester1.htm
Hope you enjoy reading it - and seeing the photos!

I believe Jason, you want to seek for an condominium interior the Park street area. all the exciting downtown events for human beings on your age variety are interior of walking distance of Park Ave, and places are relatively much less high priced around there.
