No, the Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil.

I used the word 'hate' when I was a young lady. Now I don't. Have we been taught in school to say the word so loosely that we thought anyone can become Lucifer in time, then wreck ourselves and the world? Other than killing or murder of another human being, most other evils are a process. Until we know it, we really don't know how we end up losing something. So, we must be aware of what we're doing, rather than just doing it. Being aware still doesn't address the issue of whether someone is doing something with malicious or benign intent. Malice is the root of all evil...

I think evil is the root of all hate. Evil thoughts make for evil desires, evil emotions, and evil actions. Hate is an emotion. I think all negativity comes out of the same pot of evil, but the universe is good. Therefore light overcomes the darkness, heat overcomes the cold, and good will always overcome evil. It just takes time.

Maybe that's where they got the saying,"Good things come to those who wait."

What do you think?

no hate - because I sincerely believe that as long as you can still feel hate towards anything, you can still turn that into love.

it is indiference you should be afraid of. Once you stopped caring about the other side. there is a very difficult road to hating, and then again, to love.

Also, Greed.

Greed breeds contempt and feelings of inadequacy. All these problems stem from the fact that certain people do not have a good self image.

Greed pushes us to want what does not belong to us.

Jealousy breeds greed that can lead to more heartaches.

Yes, Greed and Indifference are what I consider the worst things in this world. We have to start somewhere.

God is the cause of evil? Huh?

I'm an atheist and I'm not too keen on religion, but I'm certainly not naive enough to believe religion alone causes human conflict. ANY bone of contention--political, religious, economic, or whatever else--may be seized upon by inherently aggressive human beings as an excuse for bloodshed. If you believe that nations or peoples with no religious differences between them will have peace, perhaps you could explain why nations of identical religion have gone to war with each other over issues entirely divorced from any religious questions whatsoever.

I think there are differing degrees of hate. Life is not black and white, and clarity in describing "evil" dwindles over time (just as "good" or "pure").

Hate is usually described as a very extreme dislike. One can like or dislike anything, in varying degrees as well. The utmost dislike is described as hate.

The meanings of the words hate, love, evil, and good evolve over time just as languages do. Dialects drift from original languages until they eventually become one of their own.

However, with a general consensus of the meanings today, hate is used in religions all over the world as a justification for their actions, and we consider it evil, although they may consider what they are doing for the sake of love.

So, to answer your question, someone is always going to be hateful towards someone else, and they may not think it is evil, although the other person may. We use are own judgment of what is hateful and evil, but are we always right?

I think we can be right in our eyes and wrong in anothers.--So objectively, everyone is right and wrong, evil and good, hateful and loving. It's just a matter of a persons decisions of what they think of themselves.
