I got a PC game, and it was defective, so they exchanged it for a new one, and then I took that game back, still unopened, to a different walmart and returned it without a recipt for store credit. Is that illegal?

Not illegal, unless Walmart's return policy has been accepted as a local ordinance.

No, Walmart has a very very Liberal return policy. They once took a car battery that I was turning in as a "core" (you have tyo bring an old one in to them) to save the 5 dollar charge.

I didn't even ask but they volunteered to take the battery back as a return (like defective) and gave me creidit for a new one that I needed for another car.

In the end they gave Me five bucks instead.

Whenever I buy something (appliance or whatever), I will buy from them instead because of their no-hassle return policy.

That's what all the anti-Walmart people don't know about. Walmart just does it right.

Ps...Hillary Clinton is a major stock holder in Walmart and then attacks them on the campaign trail!

But anyway, it's ok to try to fool them because they are happy to do it!

No, it's not illegal. Is it against store policy? Maybe. Usually Walmart won't take back video games, even unopened. You don't have to have a receipt to return something, they just prefer you to have one, especially if it was a rather expensive item.

no, you returned a game for store credit. It was unopened, you're good to go. What's the problem here?

If you returned the game just for the credit then that would be considered stealing from the store. But if you returned it for other reasons then that would be acceptable.

Nope, just immoral.
Walmart allows you to return things even if you did not buy it there....as long as the bar code scans it!

no, it's perfectly fine. it's store policy in fact. if you returned it at a different COMPANY's store like Best Buy or somewhere, then it would be illegal.

I doubt if it is illegal, but you think its unethical otherwise you
wouldnt have taken it to another store. Thats ok, you probably
spend enough money there anyway and the Chinesse can use
the bucks.

Of course NOT! How would that be breaking the law? It's a simple legal transaction!
