I want to mail a cheese cake to Iraq. It has to remain frozen till he gets it. Which might take up to a month. How could I mail it and it still be eatable?

I wouldnt recommend it. We sent almost 200 pounds of easter candy to my husbands unit over there...and the chocolate candies melted and made a big mess :)

I know it's not the same as homemade, but...

Have you considered sending him a box mix? There are a lot of 'no-bake cheesecake' kits out there - and he would only have to add milk... not even that in some cases.

Type in 'no-bake cheesecake' and look at the many sites that sell the mixes: Aunt Janie's, Harvest Barn, Diamond Crystal, Sonia Lee, and plenty of others online! There should even be some available right in your own grocery store.

He'd be the envy of the platoon if you also included a no-bake Nanaimo bar mix.... :)

You would probably have to have it shipped via refrigerated or frozen shipping. It would probably be expensive. You might want to consider sending him something else as food is provided to our troops and the price of shipping might be prohibiitive. Also, as Iraq is a desert country, the refrigeration might not hold up long enough to preserve it.

forget about it. First I doubt it would get there, since mailing perishable items are a big no-no. Second if gets there it would be all yucky. And third, mail a picture of a cheesecake and tell him you'll make one when he goes back home.

=)

Have you tried checking with some place like The Cheesecake Factory? Maybe they might know.

By the way, thank you for raising such a brave man; you and your son are in my prayers. Thank you.

Does he love cheese cake? My guess is yes. How about cheese cake flavored candies?

Sorry, when ever they collect for carepackages they say non pershiable and non-melting items. I think your son will have to do without cheesecake for a while. I aplogize but I am sure he appreciates the thought.

Check with a bakery that ships their stuff - they might be able to make it happen. You could pack it in dry ice, but it would never get through security. A commercial bakery would be your best bet.

I don't think you can. It would melt and or spoil. They have these things that taste like ice cream, cheesecake, cookies, etc that are ment for people to eat to satisfy their cravings for on a diet, and they don't spoil, so you could send him those.
