They raised the puppy and have huge bond with him. They were having some bad months and were not able to buy food for anyone in the family. They were scared for the dog and thought the people food was hurting him. The months for them was like Katrina thing in that it was so disparing and they couldn't see the rainbow. Even after the dog was at the shelter they felt such huge remorse and wanted him back. The son cried a lot and said he missed his best friend. They were just about to get the dog back and found out he was in a new home. They felt so much love for the dog they offered the dog's brand new crate to the new owners. The new people wanted the crate and came and got it. My friend experienced such loss when the crate was gone and wanted her dog back. She told her husband how she felt and said to her to just ask them if she could buy the dog back. They saw a similar breed at the shelter and offered to pay the fees for that dog and to pay them $500 for the dog they want.

If the people do not want to give the dog back, they really have no chance of getting the dog back. The dog was surrendered and adopted out, they no longer have legal rights to the dog.

If a person is unable, for any reason, to provide proper care for an animal, they have no business taking one in. Your friends have no legal right to the dog anymore. Give it up, move on. Your friend needs to grow up and get over her selfish motivations.

It sounds like they need to worry more about taking care of their family and getting back on track, rather than worry about another mouth to feed. They will not be able to get the dog back.

You cannot give an animal to the shelter and then try and get it back. That is not fair to the dog or the new owner and the shelter or new owner is not legally bound to give it back They signed it over and that was that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they do not willingly want to give it back...end of story.
