You need Adobe reader to view/print these instructions. If you don't have it you can download free at

You didn't give us enough information.

Is the pump 115 VAC or 230 VAC?

If it is 115 VAC,
Green wire goes to the case ground screw.
Black wire is hot 115 Volts AC.
White wire is neutral 115 VAC return.

If it is 230 VAC you will need to check carefully on the types of cable available to you and select a very high quality multi-conductor cable. 230 VAC is a killer voltage if you get tangled up in it. The color of the wires will depend upon your cable and what is on the pump. It varies. What you are looking for is two Hots and a Neutral. I would like to see a green wire in this also, but some 230 VAC devices don't have this feature.

You need wire splice crimp type, and water tight tape, slice tubes, I like the tape better. Your local electric supply will know what you need. If this is going in a well be sure to leave slack in the wires so they don't pull apart. The well wire and the pump wires are color coded, red, black and yellow.

Is it right off the motor? Is it 1ph or 3-Ph? If it's 1-Ph, then you likely need to short two of the wires and connect line power to the two shorted one and the single one, if it's 3-ph, then you connec a line to each one. I need more details, though.

what are the colours ? if it is red , black, green then :- red is live , black is neutral and green is earth .... always connect green first .... it is a safety wire .
if it is blue , brown , green /yellow .:- connect the earth first (green yellow) .... then neutral (blue ) ... then live (brown )
if it's domestic then that should be it , however if it's industrial then it will probably be 3 phase ..... come back to me for that one . ;-)
