Your teacher is biased...its not YOUR problem that she likes 'preps' more than you. At any rate, try to reason with her and do the best in your class (ie hand up assignments on time, give good work, etc.).

No amount of "shoe pollishing" is going to change the fact of who you are and everybody can tell a phoney when they see one. Be true to yourself. You can't please everybody in this world. That's how it goes.

If she yells at you for no reason, go ahead and complain to the school, get the teacher fired. Such people do not deserve to teach. However, if its your problem (handing in crappy work, being late etc.), then learn, accept and most importantly, change for the better. Life is all about learning. Its a life long process. When you start working, there's very few 2nd chances. So screw up all you want now coz in the future, it will cost you more than your nerve.

There are of course a few other things that affect how people feel about you that might help. Such as being clean, tidy, polite, smiling and doing your best.

By the way, its no point being a teacher's pet when you can't survive in the 'real world' next time. School is pretty much overrated, but in any rate...its better than nothing.

Stand up for what you believe in, don't compromise your values, you will do fine :)

All the best..

I am a teacher, and I have to say that I don't play favorites. I'm so busy teaching that I don't have time to have favorites. There are children who make my job easier by listening, working hard, and doing their best. I care about all of my students, and I'm sure that your teacher does too. Just do your best, and I'm sure your teacher will admire you for the person you are. If your teacher is truly bias, then do your best and move on. Show your best qualities and the world will take notice. Stand tall and be proud of everything you've accomplished. Who are "preps" anyway? Here today, gone tomorrow. In a few years, you'll have forgotten all about these kids. Just be proud of yourself.

Study hard, do your best, and when you have questions be sure to ask them politely. Teachers want their students to learn and succeed in their classes. See if you can do a special project on some subject that interests you for extra credit. And be patient. Life is challenging in many areas, and the more patience you have the less stress you will have. Best wishes.

talk to her. teachers usually favor the preps because they look the part of a school-boy/school-girl. but, if you were to have a real conversation with your teacher, he/she will definitely ackgnowledge you as a better person than they originally thought.

You can't change your teacher's preferences, you can only change your attitude toward your teacher and his/her behavior. If it's a really big problem tell your parents, the principal, or approach your teacher directly about it.
