Hi. Great. You are doing exactly the right thing. I am proud of you. Honest. I think you need to start slow, but, start serious. Don't worry, it will feel better very quickly, but don't go too easy in the beginning. Pick one thing (like pizza) and really cut back. Give it a good punch, not a weak slap. The issue here is starting to change the way you think, not the way you eat. You will eat what ever your brain tells you to eat. Re-shape your attitudes and you will re-shape your waist.

Which meal do you eat these things? Lunch? Dinner? For dinner, I would suggest that you start with eating several healthy meals a week. Do you cook? The American Heart Association has a online cookbook that is great. It's called "Delicious Decisions" and the recipes are really yummy.
For lunches, Subway is great, and deli meat on whole wheat is the best for sandwiches. You can really make some good sandwiches, with tomatoes, lettuce, low fat mayo, mustard, etc. If you make a recipe you can always eat some of that for lunch too.
Weight watchers, healthy choice, etc. have many good frozen dinners that you can eat for lunch and dinner, they even have deserts! I don't blame you for not wanting to go cold turkey, take it easy, once you start eating better, you'll notice that you don't feel as stuffed, and you're not so tired after you eat!

I agree it is not easy cold turkey. Our society teaches us to eat crap basically. You are on the right track, however by wanting to change. I have used an eating plan that is part of my daily routine. I keep the same weight constantly and I do not feel deprived from any food.
Check the source below, it may offer some help. You may want to also make changes in your environment if that causes you to eat the way you do. Ultimately you are responsible for your well being. The junk food will always be there. I believe you can do it. You have already taken the first step.

What you could do is substitute, I do not know whether you like them or not but try turkey burgers they are less fattening, also veggie burgers you can buy them frozen they are good and they are not high in fat (Boca burgers). Now for the pizza you can make your own its very easy to make, Buy some low carb bagels use mozzarella cheese and a sauce that is low in fat. You can figure out how to put the ingredients on it. Take vitamins that stop the cravings like L-Glutamine. They work well you can also buy DR.Atkins book it helps you even if you don't do his diet. Trust me. Good Luck! I think you can just stop the lunch meat once you find out how its made.

Try doing the five meals a day diet. It means eating regularly, but in smaller portions no larger than the size of your fist. At least, you won't be hungry all the time. Don't eat after 8 PM. And it's okay to enjoy a cheeseburger or steak and baked potato with all the fixings after reaching certain milestones you set for yourself, e.g. having burgers only once a week.

For example:
Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up and before your first meal (helps digestion).
Breakfast: Cut up ham (or favorite meat), eggs, toast, orange juice, coffee
Morning snack: banana
Lunch: 1/2 a sandwich, soup, tea
Afternoon snack: apple or carrot sticks
Dinner: Plain hamburger or pizza slice, mixed veggies, diet soda
Drink a glass of water before going to bed.

Many people love the taste of burgers, pizza and lunch meats because of the fat, but in lesser portions, you can cut get used to cutting down.

I did the same thing and I started by buying Lean Cuisine entree's. and eating them 3 times a week for dinner.
Then I slowly added fruits like bannanas, apples, kiwis, canteloupe and plums. Then at the fast food places I started getting the salads. Whataburger has one of the best salads ever. I would also get vegetable trays that had celery, baby carrots and other stuff. I started buying the bulk bags soon after. I also drink V8 and lots of Gatorade. Now I hardly ever go to a fast food place. I eat 4 small meals a day of healthy food and have lost 45 pounds. The thought of fast food makes me sick now when before I thought I couldn't live without it.
It seems so gross after you don't eat it for a while.

Research how the foods are made. If it grosses you out, then you will never eat those things again.

Stay away from alcoholic and high-calorie beverages as well. Water is the absolute best alternative.

Learn what healthy foods you love and stick to eating them an extra time or two a week. Keep everything interesting though.

Start by packing healthy lunches to work. Use things like Amish boneless chicken breasts that you cook ahead of time, for your sandwiches. You can make either chicken salad. or just stips of the chicken. Cook them in Italian dressing. Bring triscuits instead of chips. Some kind of fruit. A few walnuts if neccesary. For a drink, NO SODAS. Only water. This should be a good start.

im sorry but theres no weening, the only way to do it is to go cold turkey. its easier than you think. just try it, and if you fall off the wagon just start all over again, finally it will get easier and easier to stay off of fatty foods. so i guess that is like weening if you think about it. *smiling* Good luck!

No other way than cold turkey because I've tried weaning off these foods many times.
Either cut down on your portions or quit cold turkey.
