Your BMI is 21.5, which is in the normal range (18.5-24.9). But how do you feel about your body? What's your relationship with food and body like? If you are eating when hungry and stopping when full, that's a good sign. If you are restricting your caloric intake to maintain a lower weight, or you are compulsively overeating, that will certainly throw off your natural weight (or "set point" at which your body settles). I'm sure you are fantastic just as you are! It's a shame our culture makes women feel badly about their bodies...

NO!! You are a healthy normal 12 year old! If you are beginning to feel as if you are overweight, just watch what you eat and go outside and play, but don't obsess about your weight. The height and weight that you listed falls within a BMI (body mass index) of only 21.5 percent - that is totally normal! Enjoy your life and being a kid!

You are certainly not. Medical people use Body Mass Index (BMI) to assess a persons "calorie" state. This can be calculated by dividing ones weight (in kilograms) by the square of his/her height (in metres). The normal range is about 20 to 25 and yours is about 21.5.
You're doing good, honey. Just keep it up!

No, your weight is fine. Your BMI is 21.5, which is within the healthy weight range for your age and height. As you are only 12, you do not want to weight too much more, but you don't need to lose any weight. HTH : )

It doesn't sound like it to me. You are still growing. If you feel healthy and can still do the things you enjoy I wouldn't worry about it. Just eat right and get plenty of exercise.

No, dear, you are not. If you are concerned, see your doctor or your school nurse -- your health is made up of many more things than just your weight. Be more concerned about how you feel, how fit and healthy you are.
