You can't go wrong by listening. You don't have to obey. Parents will have more life experience than their kids and that is valuable. They also have more wisdom. Parents generally want the best for their kids and their advice should reflect that.

Because parents were your age once. They learned what was right and wrong at that age. When people grow up and become parents they know what is right and what is wrong. Remember each generation has their own "thing" their own "music" but you will only have one set of parents. We are not all as dumb as kids think. We learned things from "our" parents. Oh we might not listen to them all of the time, but when things get tough their words will always stick in your mind. I am 57 years old, I don't know everything. I taught my son the best I could. He thanks me every day.

Because they are your parents & they know what's best 4 U and their only trying 2 make you into a good person & they try to teach you right from wrong.

Your parents are more experienced with life than you are. Their counsel will help you make fewer mistakes and bad decisions in your life. Perhaps you find yourself giving advice to your younger brother or sister...same thing.

They love you more than you love yourself. They have more years of life lessons than you. They don't what to make you look stupid and then laugh at you. They are your biggest cheerleaders. If they can they do. They are always going to watch over you( let use to it). They only want the best for you.

i listen to my parents. they know more i mean i know they can be so strict at times but i love them. without them in my life i don't know what i'll do. when i can't go to my friends i can go up to my mother and ask question. i don't know what else to say.

well because they've lived longer than you which means that they more about you and want you to be a smart kid
and it's respectful because they didnt give you to their family members like harry potter :o
