I can't hibernate my laptop(I could before)!actually the shutdown frame has the button but a dark disabled one

even using the shortkut keys leads up to an attention window saying "failed to hibernate as this state is not presently supported.Do you want to enable the hibernation now?"
but when you click yes the same window comes up saying the same!clicking yes for the second window closes it with no result!
even I have tested the "power options properties"in control panel but there is no hibernation tab available to enable hibernation!
