and I am not sure if that is the correct spelling or name, that is just what the lady that sold it to me called it.
What does it look like? O.K. It looks like a nickel plated tube cake pan that is set on a short flared collar with a mounted gas burner and has a cut out bat motif on the collar. it has 2 bat shaped handles on the sides of the bowl and the same bat handles on the lid.thought it was cool and the lady told me that her husband brought it back from japan in the 50's and they only used it once or twice and she could not recall what or how they cooked in it any ideas how to use it? or recipies?

I believe it's called Shabu Shabu. I haven't had it in a long time but it's kind of like fondu, but you have a broth base that you dip thin slices of meat into with your chopsticks until cooked, you have some flavored dipping sauces on the side, then you add veggies to the broth, eat those and have the broth as soup for a last course.
