Without the help of any tutor, I got 2 perfect scores in math and reading, but my writing score was only 720, for a total of 2320. I only read this SAT guide, and that is how I got such high scores:

I recommend this guide to anyone seeking to get a higher score to get into a first choice college.

SAT's are graded using a percentile scale. If 100 kids took the test, including you and (for example) you got the most math problems right, you would get a 99 percentile, meaning you did better than 99 students (for you are the 100'th student and they do not count you in your grade). SAT covers a vast many subjects including geography, math, science, history, and pot-pouri (not the smelly stuff, a random mix of questions).
