My homeowner's insurance policy clearly states that hurricanes (and stuff) are acts of God.

The Bible says God never slumbers or sleeps.* But it does say on the 7th day after creation, He rested.** It doesn't say what He did while resting.

I don't know how He can when He listens to and answers the prayers of the billions of people on earth simultaneously. Can't see how He would have any free time. Why not ask Him? Maybe He will give you an answer.**

Miracles that nobody witnesses or gives Him credit for.....
He goes nightclubbin' but not for the honeys....He's been known to cut a rug or two.....
He creates dreams to place in our heads while we sleep.....
Bends Rainbows.....
Kicks back under the Tree of Wisdom, rolls a Pinner, and watches the Earth spin, keeping it on track faithfully.
He plays a Gibson Les Paul, jams in a band called Humansmack...
Jigsaw Puzzles & Mind Games
Moves Mountains without Bulldozers and parts seas when nobodys looking.
Good Question S.N.....See ya.

a) There is no time for God, God created time but is not subject to it.
b) Only in English language this kind of events are denominated Acts of God. Other civilized languages uses other terms as fortiuous events, major force, etc.

Well, God created us to be his companions. He doesn't have "free time." I believe that he answers our prayers and lives in our hearts and the souls of people who have died. God does not make hurricanes and other natural disasters for us to suffer. They're just a challenge of life. It's not what we have that defines us, and if we happen to die in something like that, our time in this kingdom is simply over and it is time to be with God. As far as playing football and things like that, I don't think it's true. God finds his pleasure in our love for him, in return for his love for us. He finds pleasure in a baby's first laugh, not a fumble.

There is a Jewish story about a Roman emperor who was talking to a Rabbi about his faith.

The emperor said, "So if it took your God only six days to create the world, what has he been doing since then?"

"Arranging marriages!" replied the Rabbi.

"How hard can that be?" asked the Emperor?

"Try it!" challenged the Rabbi.

So the emperor bought a dozen slaves or so and matched them up. In less than a week, all the slaves had come to complain about their assigned spouses. This one snored too much. This one couldn't cook the food without burning it.

At that moment the Emperor understood the Rabbi.

God doesn't exist. But if he did, he'd probably be off taking care of some other universe. Who's to say we're the only one he has? Besides, omnipotent beings don't really have 'free time'. They can do an infinite number of things at once, so all time is just as free to them.

God is everywhere. In you and me and every living and non-living being. He doesn't think like mortal people so it is foolish to think that he is a person. He is a force which let's nature take it's course and gives people free will to make decisions.
