Just got her she's 6 MO orange tabby. I'm afriad I'm going to squish the poor thing or break my neck.
I've tried carrying her but she doesn't like it. I give her as much attention as I can.

She just walks right next to my ankles like a dog trying to heel--but really really close! She's not playing, she just wants to be near me bless her heart. She doesn't do the darting thing :))

i think if she is an 'only kitten' she may be playing with your feet as substitute playmates
why not get her a few toys to play with instead?
they don't need to be expensive
a chain (cheap jewelery variety)
ping pong balls
cardboard boxes of varying sizes
etc
keep picking her up too fuss her on YOUR terms and she will get used to it and even look forward to it also

Cats are cats.. mine did this when he was younger... Especially at feeding time. Just walk normally (you may accidentally kick the cat or trip a bit) but the kitty will learn to stay out of your way when you are walking. Good Luck!

Don't worry, it's normal. Just be careful where you step for a few months. In a year or so, your cat will be full grown and you won't have to worry much about hurting her. As for tripping you, that never goes away, but just imagine it as your cat showing how much she loves you!

Good question. It must be a cat thing because mine does the same thing. I think it,s because they want attention because if I pick her up and pet her for a little bit then she,s ready to get down. She just loves you that's all.

Get new glasses and watch where you are going.
Why do you think that cats are sometimes known as ankle-polishers?
That's what they do.

Cat live to be underfoot! Even my Ben does that especially when I feed him. I think that they think it is funny.

I think she's just stalking your feet. She'll get bored of that game very soon.
