Kool-Aid was developed by Edwin E. Perkins of Hastings, Nebraska from a concentrated liquid drink mix he had been producing.
Problems with breakage and expensive shipping,
led him to develop the powdered mix in 1927.
He sold the packages of "Kool Ade" for 10 cents.
The name was later changed to "Kool-Aid."
Kool-Aid originally came in seven flavors:
Raspberry (his favorite), Grape, Orange, Cherry,
Lemon-Lime, Root Beer, and Strawberry (added later).
