I login to a bunch of different hosts via NIS and my /home/me is on a mounted nfs file system and in there is my .profile where my PATH=$PATH lives . If I want certain directories to be included included in my path only when I login to a particular system - what do I need to do? Or should I just add add all the paths I might want for all the systems I log into in that .profile?

But, the PATH=$PATH should be on the system that you want to login, not on your system from which you are logging, to do what you want! Right?

Yes, you could make a master list of all log paths you might want in your .profile PATH=$PATH script.

Hmmmm. Thanks for the possible conundrum...
