Yes I have been looked down on in some churches. I even stop going for awhile. But one thing I can tell you is that went you stop before finding a new church it is hard to start going again. Also you should try not to worry about how others see you as long as you are getting feed God's word and you like where you are. If you really want another church I would say come to River Valley on Bittersweet road. They have a lot of different kinds of people going there. They accept you for how you are not what you wear. God Bless you.

Yes,I've unfortunately experienced this too.I was brought up Pentecostal. They don't believe in women wearing make-up,jewelery(not even wedding rings)or cutting your hair.I went to Louisiana to visit my grandmother that was a very religious lady.I had recently cut my hair about shoulder length, and I was wearing my wedding rings and a string of pearls. While the preacher was preaching about the sins of prostitutes,he stared directly at me.It was at that time I realized that was not the religion for me.I also received a revelation that all the preachers are preaching their interpretation of what the Bible says.So I started reading the Bible for myself. And I've discovered so many things that we just assume are true, because that's what we've been told. For example, find out where it says that Christ was born on Dec.25.It doesn't.And when did the Bible say that we were supposed to attend church on Sunday? The Sabbath is Saturday. All these beliefs that you just take for granted, just look it up for yourselves, you'll find that allot of stuff people just believe cause that is what someone said. But ask them to show you in the Bible where it states certain things that have been taken for granted.I would get out and fast, ANY church that judges you.You should be welcomed with open arms, weather you have on jeans or a fur.

well it was a funny story,,,well funny to me..
i am Pagan, but o do go to church on occasion when i find a pastor that i like, i find the singind and choir and music to be very uplifting and i figure if it lifts your soul then it is good for you no matter what religion you are right....
then they asked me to become a deacon and teach sunday school...i tried to politely refuse but they kept pressing the issue because i am good with kids and the children at the church were always playing with me and such...
well when i finally told tham that i was pagan you could have heard a pin drop.... the pastor and deacons asked me to not come back infront of the entire congregation.... about 1/4 of the congregation walked out behind me (most of the people that had kids that felt that i was a positive influence on them)
some asked me why i talked about jesus if i did not believe in God,,, i explained that i do believe in god,, and many other gods...
i talk about Jesus because i hold him in very high regard as a teacher and a man of love and peace.
i never once claimed to be a christian or to be a follower of the faith,, but what i could do was relate the story of jesus to the children in a way that they would remember it and come to love jesus...
some would call me a false christian,,,i would not because i do not claim christianity.....

Yes, I left Sunday School, headed up the steps to the worship service when I overheard my Sunday School teacher making ugly remarks about me. I changed churches. The people there are kind. Don't give up on all church. Find another. God Bless You.

Change churches. Go to a church where they stress fellowshipping. That is where people are less judgemental and more willing to help and be friendly.

Oh yeah. Same as when I went to a mosque to check it out.
The only ones that would accept me were the pagans.

Yes, apparently being self-righteous is something church leaders look down on.
