She will not be able to digest and pass the towel. Get her to the vet asap. Are you sure she ate the whole thing? A paper towl or cloth towel? You should have her x-rayed at least.

Do not listen to what monkeycrazychick says. She says she is a vet, but in her profile she says she is 16, so not a vet!! Her advice will get your dog killed.

the only thing that you can do now is take her to the vet. they will want to take x-rays to see if the towel is still in her and where it is at. they will most likely want to do a barium series, this will show exactly where the blockage is. from this point surgery is the next step. the Dr. is going to have to open her up and remove the towel from her stomach or the intestines depending on how far the towel has moved threw her digestive system. I have assisted in many of these kinds of surgeries. we have removed the strangest things. but if the towel is still in her and she cant pass it on her own she will die. you are looking at a large bill for the x-rays, barium series blood work-up and surgery. i have been a vet tech for 22 years, and have seen so many things like this and the dogs we can get too right away do just fine. the ones that don't make it are the ones that the owner waited too long for us to be able to help sometimes just 1 day could have made a difference.

My little Shih Tzu will be turning 3 in October. So far in his short life, he has ingested two socks and a pair of panties. We have been lucky because he has thrown them up a day or more later with no help. I am not a vet, but I would keep a close eye on him/her and if he/she keeps acting lethargic and vomiting, then I would take him/her to the vet. I have a friend who's dog swallowed a sock and had to have it endoscopically removed. I believe it was like $500. I did a lot of praying after my dog's last incident. I was not aware of the socks until he vomited them up one day. He is fine and perfectly healthy. The vomiting is probably the little guy working to get the towel up.

Your dog most likely has a blockage and will need surgery to remove it from her intestines.
If she is vomiting it means that no food is passing through the intestines and they are blocked.
Your pet need to get to the vet right now and if not your vet this is exactly what the emergency animal clinic ws meant for.
This could be a life threatening thing.

she may be ok, but towels are not digestable - if it was my dog i would take her to the vet as they can treat her. otherwise she may end up with a very big blockage in her gut or intestines. alternatively you could offer water, as it won't hurt but i wouldn't give her any food until you know she has passed the towel one way or the other!! good luck :)

A whole towel? take her to the vet. It could have expanded inside of her and be creating a blockage.
