Frontline Plus is the best, if that helps, then Advantage

Frontline Plus, Advantage, and Advantix are probably the top 3 products out there. These drugs are usually not prescription but are sold "exclusively" through Veterinarians . Merial(Merck on the human side) is the maker of Frontline. Bayer is the maker of Advantage and Advantix. While these products are available from sources other than Veterinarians, they will not be guaranteed unless purchased from a licensed veterinarian. This is because products like these may have been purchased from outside the U.S. and from countries not regulated by the FDA and possibly tampered with, expired, or mishandled(Temperature). Also, veterinarians often offer "buy X amount get X amount free"

Frontline, Frontline Plus and Advantage are the top sellers from vets.

Frontline and Advantage can be bought online and through catalogs, however the companies, Bayer & Merial, who make these products do NOT sell them to anyone other then licensed vets and if a consumer buys the product from anyone other then a licensed vet they will not guarantee the product.

Frontline and Advantage. Both products have an additonal one called a Plus.

There is also a medicated flea shampoo available at vets by the name of Mycodex.

well frontline and advantage use to be sold at vets only but not anymore you can get them from petedge.com and some pet shops too... the kennel i work for sells it too and we are not a vet. both have a type that do fleas AND ticks (they are frontline plus and advatix) both are good products...i have found that it depends on the animal..i have 3 dogs and frontline works great on them but the third has to use advantix b/c frontline dose not work on her...and many customers that come to the kennel say the same one brand works on one dog and the other dose not...so who knows why? i guess the third would be bio spot??...

I use Advantix on my dogs it works great on them. We live in the country so we have more than the flea issue and it covers types of ticks that the others don't. Plus it repells mosquitoes

Advantage and Frontline are no longer prescription items.

You can buy it from most supply stores and online supply stores now, so I don't know if that fits the question.
