It depends on your spiritual needs. Salvador Dali often stayed up for purposes of creativity. Some people will agree that he was pretty spiritual, just a little wierd.

It also depends on your definition of "spirituality". This has many, many meanings. One persons spirituality is another persons dogma.

Sleep is good for your body, and I'd hate to live without it. For your spirituality, the question is far too personal for me to know what is good for you.

To tell the honest truth, I have had most of my most hallucinogenic spiritual moments when I have been completely deprived of sleep. So in an indirect way, you could say that I have been spiritually high for 10 years now. Killer!

Yes it is. If you read any of the great meditational teachings, you will find that there is a brief moment before falling into deep sleep when the consious is open to the unconsious. It is inthat brief peroid of time that the Crist spark within us can be fully realized.

Mar 4:2 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
Mar 4:27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

YES.

yes, for one thing the purpose of the sabbath was to give the people time to rest from the daily grind and rest and collect their thoughts. this also was a time God set aside so his children would spend with Him. this is to show us that we cannot work hard enough on our own to survive but must rely on our Creator. so is safe to assume that we should take time to recharge our bodies and not feel as though we have to push ourselves to the limit to get ahead. also looking at the natural order of the universe it shows us that there is a period to rest. day and night, the seasons etc. sorry if this was too long of an answer

I think that if your trying to sleep in to skip church its not a good idea. Unless one has Chronic Fatigue and has been diagnosed with it. I think if you are tired and you know you are go to sleep early the night before so that way you know youll be ready to go to church the next day.
