The individual by the name of "petelephant" said that Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the harlot or the whore is the Catholic religion, and that is false, it's more than just the Catholic religion, it's all false religion...

When ancient Babylon existed in what is modern day Iraq, the city was very influencial when it came to religious beliefs, customs, and supersitions..

You could say that the majority of the religions of today has their roots all the way back to the city of Babylon..

Example: The immortality of the Soul and Spirit, the Underworld [Hell], Triad gods and goddesses [Trinity], etc.

All these and many more beliefs that are taught by many of today's religions, has their roots in the ancient city of Babylon,

Now when the book of Revelation is referring to the harlot as Babylong the Great, it is simply displaying religions role with the governments of the world...

As it is explained in the book of revelation, the beast [666], is controlled or committing fornication with the great harlot, Babylon the Great,

Now since Ancient Babylon was like the center of all false religious teaching of today, then Babylon the Great could be rightly called or looked at as an Empire, just like Ancient Babylon was.

So Babylon the Great can be called the Empire of false religion that influences and some or most occasions controls the governments and kings of the earth...

So that is the Harlot or Whore of Babylon, all the false religion that is here on the earth,

Now the question is, What identifies a religion as being false and which one is true?

The "Great Tribulation" in Revelation actually happened in 70 A.D. when the Roman army encircled and destroyed Jerusalem and burned down the Temple. The Book of Revelation also refers to Babylon as the "City where they crucified our Lord".

The Whore of Babylon is not Rome, which persecuted the Catholic Church , but instead is apostate , worldly Jerusalem which rejected the Messiah.

Some have tried to claim that the Roman Catholic Church is the Whore of Babylon by pointing out that Rome has been referred to as a city on seven hills. The Seven Hills of Rome are; the Palatine, Aventine, Capitoline, Quirinal, Viminal, Esquiline, and the Caelian Hill.

The reference to the seven hills does fit in regards to Jerusalem.

Jerusalem was a large city spreading beyond the walls of the fort and onto the seven hills there during the time of Jesus and the Apostles. It’s seven hills are; 1.) Mount Gared; 2.) Mount Goath; 3.) Mount Acra; 4.) Mount Bezetha; 5.) Mount Moriah; 6.) Mount Ophel; 7.) Mount Zion.

Revelation 11:8
"Their corpses will lie in the main street of the great city, which has the symbolic names ‘Sodom’ and ‘Egypt,’ where indeed their Lord was crucified."

This passage in Revelation 11: 8 is most important because it clues us in as to where this "great city" is. It is "where indeed their Lord was crucified." It is Jerusalem.

After the flood Satan will be in seven full kingdoms.
When Jesus was in Rome Jesus had to face Satan Matt.4:1-11;
The Roman Empire was #6, the world will get the bible to end #7 the full seven for Satan.
Daniel says it is 2520 years after Babylon #3 and all the promised land was in captivity
Dan.4:16,23,25,32[ 7x 360 = 2520 ]; Rev.11{1-3 2x 1260 = 2520 + 1260 WW1 end #7].
iEgypt #1 Moses delivered the Promised Land heirs out of bondage ], Isaiah was contending with Assyria #2 and Israel was taken. So Cyrus was in #4 and it Lasted until Greece #5. 336 to 164 Maccabees, Rome/Judah 62 years before Christ.
So now #6 and #7 have passed and Jesus second coming is in the eighth of the 7 of Rev.17:1-6,10-14 [ #1 to #5 had fallen, Jesus and John on Patmos was in #6, Bible comes and #7 ends, Jesus comes again in the 8th];
This system has support from Egypt foward, they have their worship system and merchant system, they have a lot that Jesus would not be able to participate in especially the Babel of confussion. Gen.3:15[ Satan's supporters is his whore and the Lamb of God has a Bride Rev.21: 1-5,9,10; Gal.4:26; the mother of us all not as Eve or
Babylon]; The oldest prophecy is fulfilled by angels and man and who they support.
It is the world that Jesus is no part of [ this world John 18:36; Rev.18:1-6 ];
I think we all know what Christ Jesus would have us be.

Also it talks about the whore who sits upon many waters, The Statue of Liberty is that whore, for as a nation we have turned our back on God, and every nation that does that is condemned for judgement. its not gonna be a good thing
