Why do girls cut their hair so short after a break-up(especially when it was so gorgeous and lush?)?

Probably eveyone is different.
Sometimes, its because the guy said "I love your hair, keep it long" and it was a real pain to look after, so the girl thought "Yea ! Freedom!!!" and gt it cut.
Long hair can be beautiful but so can short hair.
A change can be liberating!

Good question - I think it is some form of self abuse or mourning stage. I've noticed that. After a particularly devasting break up I almost cut off my 2-ft. long hair just because I was so depressed. I can't give you the answer why - but just a little insight I guess.

My hair came down to my waist and then I broke up with my boyfriend and I cut it above my shoulders.
I don't know why I did that.
I guess I was just showing off because I looked cute with short hair and he really liked my long hair.
It worked. He tried to get back with me.
I guess it's a slap in the face.

well it could be because the partner they were with wanted them to grow the hair and liked it long and now that person has broken up she can have whatever hairstyle she likes, and usually they have it short because its such a drastic change.

Usually, that is too long for me. I believe it depends on the guy and also his face though. Certain guys can easily pull off long hair and other folks can't.

Ive never been in a relationship that deep that i would cut my hair...ive never been in a relationship, but these little datin periods are gettin on my nerves..i cant wait to find the right one

Its supposed to be a sign of change and to be back in control of yourself...however if it was you who broke up with her it has nothing to do with you what she does with her hair
