They are going off to ensure that we, our neighbors our children and our relatives, will not be killed by others. For that, we pray that they succeed.

What sane person would not wish them success and invoke whatever divine or worldly aid to their mission possible?

Send your question to Georgie & next time he gives God an appointment, he can ask Him. Simple.

In the movie "The Longest Day", the German pilot is looking down on the ships crossing the Channel and mutters, " Just whose side is God on anyway>"

In Hedges book, "Loosing Moses on the Freeway" he recounts how a Catholic Chaplin was confronted by ayoung solder, who had been an alter boy, who asked him " Father, how come I can go in the jungle and kill gooks (His words not mine) for months and that's great, but if I have sex with a mama-san, I'll go to hell?"
Just what does " Thou Shalt Not Kill" ? The chaplin was stumped.

I don't believe that God only loves people in America. I do believe that God has BLESSED America, thus far, and I do hope and pray that He continues to do so.

And yes, we should pray for our troops. They volunteer to defend our country, and if nothing else, we should pray that their family members, spouses, and friends never have to know the grief of losing their child, sibling, spouse or friend while they're serving our country.

It's honorable, but it doesn't mean I want my husband dying in Iraq.

I don't know what "we" believe. I don't believe God only loves people in America. I believe he loves everyone in the world.

Yes, I pray for the troops. All the time.

May I just point out that the Jews are the "Chosen Ones"? Oh, and I think it is wonderful to pray for our troops. God listens to every prayer, He just might not agree with what we want sometimes.

Tough question for those of us struggling with faith. I went to Vietnam in '68-69. I was a combat infantryman. Our only purpose was to kill men and women we did not know.It seems as though God exists only where we put him, and he doesn't exist when things go sour. Hell, I don't know, we all want to be right, don't we? Just remember,a soldier doesnt want to kill-- he wants to LIVE ! By the way, we pray for thier safety, that's what. --rat

God loves everyone. I pray for people in other countries, not just our troops. There are countries where owning a Bible is illegal. I pray for those who don't have the freedom to worship as they please as we do here in America.

I know it makes no sense. I don't believe in God because of all the hypocrisy. It is all so unfair and wrong.

Belief in something is what we need. I'm not so sure god is the answer, but that is just me.

God loves everyone, something like a father loves his children. God can only do what is right. No one (mortal) can understand everything God does. I THINK God punishes us for our sins but He does it by putting us thru trials. We become closer to God when we are troubled. God wants you to be close to Him but it is your choice. Wars are necessary but horrible. As the old adage goes-there are no athiests in foxholes.

Bush believes that, so all the little Neocons follow suit. Most normal people believe that God loves everyone.
