my guy friend says that pop stunts your growth so he stopped drinking it. is this true?

Of course not. Why would it? It's nothing but flavored sugar water and a little carbon dioxide.

Stop listening to your friends and start thinking for yourself.

The average person who drinks soda daily gains an average of 5 - 15 lbs per year (if their daily habits remain the same). The idea that soda stunts one's growth came from the perception of one gaining weight (getting wider) is more easily observable than one gaining height. Also, it is human nature to think that a heavier person is shorter and a thinner person is taller.

Soda is really unhealthy and could cause you to become overweight or something but other than that there isn't any scienticific evidence that i know of that says soda will stunt your growth. Still, best not to drink alot because it really is unhealthy.

maybe your guy friend should call mythbusters and ask them. soda does not stunt your growth.
