Being able to take off their diaper is not necessarily a sign that a child is ready for potty training. More often, it is just one of the ever increasing skills they are learning every day. When children figure out they can do something and it gets such a nice response from a grown-up, they want to keep on doing it. More reliable signs are waking up dry from naps (night time dryness is achieved usually much later than daytime dryness), having a vocabulary developed enough to have words for toilet, urine, bowel movement (whatever your family calls those things), and showing interest whenever you use the bathroom - wanting to go, too, and wanting to sit and "go potty" (even though they still have their clothes on). Potty training is a process and becoming fully trained is not usually attained before 3 years old. This includes being able to take their pants on and off, get on the potty by themselves, and tell you they have to go in time to make it there before an accident on most occasions.

No. If shes still pottying at night can I ask do you give her liquid at bedtime?
Is she pottying early in the morning or all through the night?
If it is early in the morning then you can get her up a few min. earlier and take her straight to the potty- she,ll have to go and this soon will become habit.
If shes going through out the night cut back on her fluid in take earlyer and see if that helps. Her little bladder just may not be ready to controll its self just yet.
Usually training a child starts during the day with pretty panties and no diapers and alot of potty trips and grate big hugs for jobs well done and pull-up can be used for travil and night time until thet can control thei bladders.
Good -luck

My 21 month old will pull her diaper off if I don't have it covered. For her it is more of a curiosity thing, she is learning something new. I can pull these tabs and my wet diaper falls off, then I can run through the house and mom chases me, it's a fun new game. Each child is different, if you think she is ready for potty training, go ahead and try it, she will let you know if she is not ready.

one of two things are happening.
1) She is letting you know that she has a dirty diaper and needs to be changed or
2) she is letting you know that she is ready to start potty traing.

When you begain potty training her dont give her anything to dirnk about an hour befor bedtime and that should help with bed wetting and also keep in mind that almost half of the children in the united states dont stop wetting the bed until they are about nine so dont get mad. She mayhap has a under developed blatter which is common.

perhaps, or maybe the child does not like the feel of it. Have you tried pull-ups. She is old enough for that now.

20 mos is pretty young to start potty training. She is probably just more aware of her wet/soilded bottom, and is expressing her dislike.

no, see if she has a rash or is allergic (unless she is doing it because she needs to be changed, then it's a cleanliness issue)
