I have a miniature one that had 2 operations to remove the stones. The first ones were calcium. They were very sharp and pointed. The second ones were magnesium. So My vet gave me a modified diet for the dog. I hope there is no third time.

It seems that this breed is prone to them. I know two people who had them and had stones removed.
Some need to be on a special diet restricting some of the minerals to prevent them from forming.
