Looks don't count for near as much for women as guys. The worst thing a girl can be is fat, the worst thing a guy can be is shy.
Just look around, plenty of hot women with much less attractive guys.
I have a friend who is a mega pick-up artist. Not a cute guy at all. Not smart either. Not really even a great talker. But he works very hard and has a very think skin, makes light hearted humorous passes at literally every female he comes in contact with. You can do this too and put to shame good looking shy guys.

Well, have you even spoken to them? First, you must get noticed. Try saying good morning to them, or SOMETHING!!!! Watch their response to you. You will know by the way they look at you, or talk to you. Hand them a note saying you would like to get together over a cup of coffee somewhere. Come on now. You can think of SOMETHING. Looks have nothing to do with it. You must be confident, and SMILE a lot. Those two things will get you far in life.
