have u been feeding him anything outside of his regular diet? sometimes a drastic change in the type of food, or even the time of day you feed your dog can lead to an upset stomach. and...has it been eating fish??

you wanna really be sure there is no blood in the poop. If there is get the pup to the doctor!! If it is just normal color, make sure there is plenty of water, and keep an eye on the dog for a change in behavior. After a couple of days if there is no change then see a vet.

My puppy used to eat anything and everything, so had diarrhea frequently. I was told to mix 1 T Pepto Bismol with 4 T vanilla ice cream. (He called it a Pepto shake!) Worked great. This is is the qty for when she was tiny pup, and I once had a dachshund and think the amt is equal.

If it last more than one day definately take it to the Vet, that is also the beginning signs of Parvo.

I have been going through this with my lab for 5 days now. I gave him Imodium for the 1st 3 days, then I had him skip a day of eating, when I gave him a little food, poops started again.

So I started the brat diet, yesterday he got rice, which he did not eat. Today he got rice and boiled beef, Which he ate, he has been almost 36 hours now and no poopies. Tonight he get rice and beef again. Tomorrow, we start back with regular food.

well i have a couple of answers for that....
1:try giving him some pumpkin...that helps upset stomaches for dogs,it will help with his runs....
2:consult the vet if nothing works...
if you give the dog some pumpkin give it to him a couple times a day....they usually like the taste of pumpkin....and if the pumpkin doesnt work with in the next day or so call the vet and ask them...i hope i helped..good luck and god bless

I'd go to the vet to be sure, it could be an intestinal blockage...

The fishy smell makes me think, it could be an anal gland leaking... it will often smell very fishy and be accompanied by loose stools.

take him to the vet ASAP. he prob just aint something that wasnt good for him. If you cant get him to the doctor, then give ur dog Pedialyte so that he doesnt become dehydrated.

If he isn't sick.. try adding a little (no more than a tablespoon) of all natural, plain, vanilla yogurt. This should help, we do this with my puppy and he never gets diarrhea, even with all the stuff he eats. :)
