What about admitting publicly that the vast majority of illegals are Mexican (notice I didn't use the terms "latino" or "hispanic"). Is the term "Illegal-Mexican" offensive?

usually I dont' respond to questions within answers, but I will let yenfer know that in fact I am the grandson of legal immigrants.. grandma came to USA legally from Germany and grandpa went through the same stringent process from the southern tip of Italy. Legal is not the easy way but it is the ONLY way.

I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST LEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

As to the angry little idiot, I make no apologies for my postings or for having friends and family that are involved in YA. This question is no scam. I award best answers on the basis of what I believe to be the best and OFTEN put my questions to a vote when there are multiple great answers. Obviously I could care less about points. I just want logical answers/interesting discussions.

No, you're certainly not being racist in being strongly against illegal-immigration. In the first place, they're called illegal because they are in fact, breaking the law. We've got to stop being slaves to this political correctness sensitivity and putting the racist label (or sexist, homophobic, etc.) on anyone speaking the truth or venting an opinion.

But you know, the real criminals are these "scratch-my-back" politicians and greedy employers, who are really no better than pimps, because they are exploiting these illegals for their own gain. Our system is structured in a way that actually gives the illegals the motive to break the law in the first place. And believe me, they're well informed by their many supporters and advocates about how to go about "bleeding" our system for all it's worth. The politicians support laws that give them the incentive to slip across the border and give birth to newborns who subsequently become automatically naturalized. Then these families can petition our government to get their green-cards and stay over here indefinately, claiming "hardship." Off course, we then are required by law to provide them with an education in their native Spanish and all kinds of other freebies that the average hard-working American taxpayer can't even begin to qualify for, like affordable health care.

It's kind of like treating an alcoholic/addict. You can't continue to feel so sorry for them that you end-up enabling their behavior and power to manipulate so that they get what they want and you're the bad guy if they don't.

According to hispanics or latinos it's quite racist to be against their kin sneaking into the United States illegally.

But otherwise there is nothing racist in the slightest about being tired of people entering this country illegally and taking jobs away from American citizens.

Yes I've heard the arguments that they do jobs most people don't want but I know plenty of people that actually do want to work and are refused because they aren't mexican.

No it's not racist.
For those who say it is...how is it racist to want to know who is coming into our country?
How is it racist to want your Gov. to enforce the immigration laws that ALREADY exist??
How is it racist to want our borders secure and a well built/ enforced fence/ wall in place on our borders?
BTW Illegal Mexican is NOT offensive, the only way it could be is if the Mexican is actually Legal.

It's NOT racist ....it is called COMMON SENSE.....some people on here need to get them some of that.

Not unless you are opposed to illegal immigrants primarily on the basis of their race -- after all, there are very legitimate arguments against illegal immigration, most salient among them that it is *illegal*.

Neither is it racist to state the fact that the vast majority of illegal immigratnts are currently Mexicans. And I say this as a green card-carrying US resident from Mexico.

As far as "Illegal Mexican" goes... exactly what is the benefit of such a specific term? By using it, you would imply that the only sorts of illegal immigrants you are concerned with are of Mexican descent, which does begin to cross into a grey area as far as racism is concerned.

I lived in a border town and Border Patrol refers to Mexicans as Undocumented Aliens. Everybody else is referred to as Other Than Mexicans (OTM's).

There are other large illegally entered groups, such as people from the Domician Republic, China, Guatamala and El Salvorador.

It would be offensive to call an American born Mexican or legally entered Mexican an "Illegal-Mexican."

I think zenophobia is not uncommon in all countries of the world. People don't like competition and what they feel is a comtamination of their culture. In other words, it depends on why you are anti-immigrant. If it because you don't like Mexicans, yes it is racist. If you are trying to preserve a status quo, it may not be. It depends on whether you don't mind other groups immigrating to America and only don't want Mexicans in the USA.

Well-- anti-illegal immigrant is not racist as that applies to any illegal alien.

It just so happens that the vast majority of illegal aliens today are hispanic.

Those are facts, not racist. If you call **all** hispanics illegal-mexicans, that would be racist. If you assume any hispanic is illegal, then you're also being racist.

there's a application that our united states of america has it is named ICE Air. It deports unlawful immigrants living house. whilst they arrive the get sandwiches, chips, fruit, civilian clothing , checked bags, and a private nurse. all of it expenses around $680 in taxpayer money for a one-way fee ticket. so some distance approximately 367,000 unlawful immigrants have taken it.

First of all - and Illegal Immigrant can be of any "race".

There is nothing racist about being anti-illegal immigrant.

Not all illegals are Mexican - most of them are.

An illegal immigrant is anyone who is in this country without permission.

If it's offensive to them - so be it.

IF THEY WOULD COME HERE LEGALLY...they wouldn't have the label "illegal immigrant". would they?

What about you getting more informed before talking? Mexicans are the lowest immigrant population in this country. I have a question for you "Patriot". Are you Native American? Because those are the only Pure Americans I know everybody else is "Immigrant".

No, because #1 they are illegal and #2 we cannot feed the people we already have here and do not need anymore to support.
