Cleanliness!! Atmosphere. Does it make me feel like relaxing with a bottle of wine. I cook at home so when I go to a restaurant it is really an outing. I don't go for the food I am diabetic and I don't think most of them watch those calories for us.

1. Clean restaurant
2. Good service
3. Good food or for a higher price superior food
4. Ability to handle special requests - like no Lemon in anything - I'm allergic.
5. Accessibility - though this is hard to find sometimes.
6. Responsive people who understand English
7. Someone in the kitchen who can speak English and translate to the cooks or chefs special requests.
8. No bad attitudes
9. Non-smoking
10. Nice patrons

That is my ideal. Most of the time I grab a bagel from a fruit store and go finish my research.

Depends on the scale of the restuarant.

If it is fine dining, I expect attention to detail, knowledge of the industry, food, wine & champagne, and an educated palate.

If it is medium dining, I expect someone to be on the ball, courteous, and helpful.

If it is fast food, I expect someone to speak English and be able to fill my order correctly...

First will be the taste of the food, then service, cleanliness, and reasonable price.

Clean bathrooms. As someone who has worked in restaurants, I can tell you that the bathrooms are generally as clean as the kitchen.
