A large truck is crossing a bridge

Question
A large truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it half way across the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck. Does the bridge collapse? Give a reason.

Answer
No it does not collapse. Because it has driven a half mile - you would subtract the gas used from the total weight of the truck.

Is this a riddle or a common sense question. I don't know because it can be seen from different angles. When the weight limit is determined they always put it below what the bridge could really carry to compensate for arrogance for those who choose to cross anyways. Plus, is that the weight of the truck with or without cargo? and the weight of the driver?

ANSWER[Then there is if the riddle was determined on the premise that the truck only made it halfway onto the bridge then stopped. So the truck was not completely on the bridge, but only halfway accross. So the bird would not make any difference nor the weight of the truck because only half was on the bridge. And the bridge would not collapse.]

But either way, the bird does not make a difference unless you want me to say something like maybe if the bird took a sh*t. But that weight was already included in the mass of the bird, so it still does not make a difference.

No, since the truck stops in the middle of the bridge, not only did it run out of gas, but the driver is also no longer in the truck, because he has to walk to the nearest gas station. So the extra weight of the bird would not make it collapse. Woot!

Actually if the weight of the truck is exactly 14000 and you did not factor in the weight of the driver to begin with then he is most likely over by at least 165 lbs. Probably more given the sedentary life of a professional truck driver. Also considering that most posted weight limits are also taking into account human judgement they are able to withstand more weight that what is posted.

just becuase of the truck stopped doesnt mean the bird landed when the truck stopped. you never said the bird landed when the truck stopped. you just said the truck stopped . and next sentence was the bird landed on it. So there for no the bridge didnt collapse lol

Possibly not, because the truck is in the center of the bridge

No, the truck stopped because it ran out of gasoline. The weight of gasoline needed to power a truck, going anywhere, is at least 10 fold what the bird weights.

Hey!! Kid can answer this!! 10 points? It is not a question! Bring an other!! The bridge will never collapse at all!! At least he (the bridge) must have a common sense. Otherwise; he must be a kid like you who asks silly questions.

No. If the truck keeps moving the bird will fly away and the truck can make it across
