i didn't say public school employees, i said public school teachers.because they know what public education is worth, that's why most send their kids to private or home schooling.

i think they make pretty decent money for the amount of work they get done... of course all the frustration from kids i'm sure is worth even more, but all jobs are either hard/frustrating in some ways.

so maybe what i heard was, (as the facts state also) is that more public school teachers send their kids to private school than the average american sends their kids to private schools.

I have worked in many private school for many years and i must exclaim, I do not know where you get your statistics from but it is very wrong. Most teachers send their children to public school. Why do you think private schools are so much better? Someday you'll find out they are no better than a public school. The difference is the private schools can pick and choose so they end up with the "smarter" children therefore their grades seem better. Public school has a wider diversity of children.

In 2004, over 1/4 of public school teachers in Metro Nashville sent their kids to private school (see first link below)
In 2005, over 15% of public school teachers in Ohio sent their kids to private school, more than the 14% of the other people who sent their kids to private school. (see second link)
In 2004, over 25% of teachers in Washington and Baltimore area sent their kids to private schools.

For more information on this subject, I advise you all to read up on these articles, and any others you may find. While our questioner may have exaggerated the amount of public school teachers doing this, there is something to the idea that , as the last article's title states : "Public schools no place for teachers' kids".

What on earth makes you think that public schools are any good? Anyone with the money to do so sends their kids to private schools, as well they might given the appalling state of public education.

How many is most? Where is this most figure from? I know plenty of public school employees who have thier children in public schools. They can't afford to do otherwise.
