People don't "have to" get married. Lots of people choose to get married so they can spend their life with a person they love. It's a choice, not a rule.

Years ago it was expected that men and women would get married. In some places today, that's still true. Where I live (the U.S.) it's not necessarily "expected" for people to get married, especially women. We're becoming more independent. It works for some people, while for others it doesn't. Myself personally I would like to get married someday and have a family of my own.

Because it is a status symbol from the church and society. Once society accepts it, then you are in the minority when you feel different. But it doesn't mean that you are wrong. Their are plenty of people who never get married but love each other. Its just what people think is the right thing to do brought on from the church.

In example, if you grew up a Mormon you would think its OK to have many wives. Or if you were in harem you would think its normal that your husband has many wife's. Its what society and the church teaches us. But in the end you know whats best for you, its just hard to see it sometimes.

People dont have to get married, we dont have to anything we dont choose to do. The choice is yours. If you are content and happy not being married then dont do it, just live your life the way that is comfortable for you.

No one has to get married. Marriage to me is a commitment that you give to your mate a way of publicly saying we are now off limits to anyone else and a way to legitimize children so they will not have to carry a title of bastard.
