There was just something on TV last night about Hoyle. Scientists were talking about how his theory of how stars create heavy elements was dead on, but that his theories about the creation of the universe have been proved wrong.

I suspect that if he had come along a generation later, his views would be more mainstream. When he made those comments, there was not much theory yet -- and the evidence backing the Big Bang (which is now significant) was then nonexistent.

Quoting Hoyle on the Big Bang is like quoting a physicist in 1890 saying that man will never fly. In 15 years, he will change his mind.

I wonder how many of the buffoons answering favourably towards these well-known scientists realize that most of them died before Darwin was born? In fact you might as well have included Darwin himself on the list - he was a creationist when he set off for Brazil in 1832.

Anyway, non-Creationist scientists have compiled their own list, but just to make things interesting they decided they would only choose from scientists who were called "Steve" (or Steven, Steph, etc). And apart from Stephen Jay Gould, for whom the list is named, they're all still alive and in possession of more recent scientific knowledge. By themselves, scientists called Steve more than match all the creationist "scientists".

Sure. Some of those scientists believed in creationism because they didn't know what we know today.

I hate how so many idiots these days call themselves scientists in order to push their religious agenda.

Try talking to people outside of your church group. The world is a big place.

Now try and convince us that Darwin recanted on his death bed. Really, you can't hear enough of the same stupid christians lies enough. Especially since you can't even come up with new ones.
