Been there done that... it sounds like your son's ear drum(s) has ruptured. I recommend that you take him to a E.N.T. (Ear , Nose & Throat) specialist as soon as possible. Explain the green goop. Antibiotics will probably be in order. Zithromax has worked well for my son. We have not had a lot of luck with Augmentin clearing up his infections, and I don't like to abuse antibiotics. Feed your son a good quality yogurt during and after antibiotic treatment to help replenish good bacteria. Find a new Dr. if yours won't see you asap. You only get one set of ears.

I would definitely go to the er. my oldest had the same thing and he had a ruptered ear drum from an ear infection. all of a sudden he was complaining his ear hurt then during the night it ruptured. His pain really went down & he had goop coming out. He was on oral & drop antibiotics along with anti-inflammatory meds. He is perfectly fine now.

Sounds as if he has an ear infection and it is draining. His ear drum could have ruptured too. No one can diagnose it here on yahoo.
You are the mom. If you are really worried about it, try an urgent care in your area, or if he is just miserable and seems to not be getting better before Tuesday, then try the E.R. It is better to be on the safe side. I hope he is feeling better soon!

You didn't say how old he is, but could be a sinus infection. I would try taking him to a walk-in clinic or some hospital's have urgent care facilities next to the E.R.- for non-E.R. stuff so it doesn't back them up. In my part of the country, there are also some pharmacies that have nurse practitioners on site to do urgent care appointments. Good luck!

If your doctor decided to give him an appointment until Tuesday after you gave him the details, then you should have nothing to worry about. If the doctor thought that it was something serious he would have seen him right away. If you feel uncomfortable waiting until Tuesday, then you should consider taking him into the ER.

Don't put anything in his ear. No Q-tip, no hydrogen peroxide. *IF* he had a perforated eardrum (Which some kids get when they have an ear infection if it's not taken care of right away) it could be very damaging. Please, don't put ANYTHING in his ear. Do you have an Urgent Care nearby? I don't think you should wait until Tuesday, especially if he has something seeping out of his ears.

Take him to an urgent care clinic or to the ER. Ear infections left untreated can lead to perforations to the eardrum, not to mention that he may begin to have terrible, uncontrollabe pain.

Take him to the hospital emergency room to see a doctor. He has an ear infection which is only going to escalate and get worse. Ear infections can permanently damage hearing.

Sounds to me like he's got a pretty bad ear infection. Do you have an Urgent Care near you. I'd try to get him seen before the weekend, the infection could get worse if you don't get medication for it. You may also want to call your local pharmacist and see what he/she recommends.

EWWWW, sry, but yea that's not a good sign, keep it clean because it could be an infection, so clean it with a rag and water, GENTLY, then using like Q-tip put a little Peroxide in his ear to keep it clean, until the doctor can give u specific medicine
