How do I see the outline of a label template using a Word document? Not print; just viewed.?

easy...after selecting the template (i.e. avery 5160) in the set up, click on new document. You should see the outlines in grayscale. If not, go to table>view gridlines.

That will toggle the gridlines on or off.

The outline should appear as faint grey lines in which you type each of your labels.

If you want to see exactly how the labels will look with printing them, do a print preview.
