My cat is a female 8 yo and she normally will go out a few times a day, since yesterday she is asleep she had used her litter box and her eyes look OK, do you think she is sick? She ate very little-we had some painting done outside the house and she did not like to be outside during the day.

Cats can sleep anywhere between 12 and 18 hours a day. From the sound of it she is an inside/outside cat. There are a lot of things she could catch from other nighborhood cats. If her eating and drinking habits change enough for you to take notice you might want to call the vet and decribe what has been going on. The vet could suggest keeping an eye on her for a few days or to bring her in to be examined.

Keep a close eye on her. Sometimes they feel a bit unwell like us and take a few days to get over it. Also, she may not like the smell of the paint so she's staying indoors.

Maybe she's just a little depressed. When I painted my room my cat didn't seem to mind. If you see she begins to lose weight then you can start to worry. Just spend as much time with her as you can, she's probably just gotten a little lazy. I hope this helps a tad!!
