Iran has made no secret of its ultimate goal -- to destroy the world and thus usher in the 12th Imam -- the arrival of the Islamic messiah. I'm concerned (ha! what an understatement!) that the US will hesitate and hesitate to deal with Iran until WHAMMO -- Iran cuts loose and it's too late for us to do anything. I hope I'm wrong. Perhaps the US will unleash all manner of fury when it realizes that Iran 1) means business and 2) is equipped to carry out their threats. What do you think?

Iran is trying to get the ability to do damage to other countries. It is trying to get respect, just as South Korea keeps trying. Aftre Bush invaded Iraq, I would want to have a deterrent to if I lived there.
The US is the one nation that could possibly destroy the world. In less than 7 years we have destroyed our reputation, our constitiution, and all faith or trust any of us had in our system of government, which is not a democracy. Our votes are not counted, only the votes of each state. If you live in a conservative state and you are not conservative, then your vote does not count.
We of the USA are destroying the ideas of democracy, freedom, justice, and fairness. The sad fact is that most of us did not vote for these past events, had no say, and feel fairly powerless to change things. Our entire legislature voted to allow a questionable president with questionable intentions to use the Powers of War to limit our rights as citizens and rule by fear.
And with your question, we all know it is working. The Middle East was as stable as it has ever been until 2000, when George W. Bush, the man who single handedly doubled the amount of TX prisoners excuted when he became governor of that state, took office as president of the US of A.
If the Russians had invaded our country to get rid of Bush and then stayed to "stabilize" the US with leaders of their choosing, while sending troops into our houses searching for "terrorists", don't you think you would be fighting the Russians tooth and nail. Why does anyone believe we ever had a right to invade and try to run any other country. It is against our entire democratic rhetoric.
No, Iran will not be responsible for the end of the world. Sadly, we might.

Obviously you are not very well educated in the current iran-us conflict. Nor are you educated in Iranian culture and religious beliefs. What good would it do any country to destroy the world. They kill themselves off or at best live in isolation in this world. What would be the point of either situation. Irrationality and out this world assertions seems to be big among a subpopulation of Americans. When will we all learn that empty rhetoric leads to the ignorance of the masses.

destroy ? i think it is not iran which is going to destroy world ask your self a question why do america let israel have mass destruction weapons and i am sure of what i say and there are pictures of dimona from inside on the net i have been doing researches for a month and half about it and i can say that it has nuclear weapons like that ina merica in number why is that allowed to israel and forbidden to iran donot say israel protect it selfbecause i think the UN donot put exceptitions in the ban of nuclear and atomic weapons leave iran because if there are someones who may have problems with iran it should be us in middle east and ask america to put off her angel dress because the real face have been shown in her war in iraq and indirectly inthe war with lebonan.

Where are your sources for these statements??? I've not heard of any Iranian plan to "destroy the world" that's absolutely ludicrous. North Korea is one of the "axis of evil" members described by Bush and they already have nuclear weapons and have had for some time. Don't buy into these fear and warmonger theories, apparently there's not enough killing going on for them.

I think that people are being rabidly reactionary, and basing their decisions on emotion rather than logic, ignoring the costs and consquences of those decisions.
