Have you checked to see how many programs are running in the background? It is possible that there are too many and that it is maxing out your CPU. Check your start up programs. To do this you may want to go to www.windowsstartup.com to download Startup Inspector for Windows. It will list all programs that are running on Startup and whether or not they are recommended. If all else fails, have you considered spending the money to get more RAM? A ram card should speed up your computer considerably.

Try clearing history and cookies. Tools>Internet options. Then reduce the days to keep files in history to about1 or none. Games take up a lot of space. You may want to delete some of the temporary programs that you are not using. Good Luck!

Without you giving some specifications we can't be very specific, but a few things you can try are:

Buy more memory (RAM)
Upgrade your processor
Clean out unused and old files with a utility like Crap Cleaner
Defragment your hard drive
Scan for adware, viruses and other malware.

That depends, it may just be your processor is too slow for your operatings system. Or your memory is too low also. My recommendations: AT LEASE 2.0 gigahertz processor, and AT LEAST 256 megabytes of ram, preferably 512 megabytes. All of these things can be checked under Control Panel-> Sytem->General (tab). Hope that helps!

Start>All Programs>Accessories>Disk Cleanup. Then after that's done, Star>All Programs>Accessories>Disk Defragmenter.

Also, download these programs, install and run them:

http://www.download.com/Sunbelt-Kerio-Personal-Firewall/3000-10435_4-10543979.html?tag=lst-3-3

The Kerio firewall is free, some of the advanced features just get turned off after a month.

The best way is to buy more ram ( see some really cheap at http://www.ebay.com ) but you can remove some programs from the startup using Start> Run> msconfig in that pop-up go to the startup and uncheck some programs but be careful to do not uncheck drivers.

Various things:

- Reinstall OS and don't install all the crap that will bloat your system
- Upgrade your computer:
+ more RAM
+ faster hard disc
+ newer motherboard with faster CPU, faster memory bus

You are loading too many programs. The recycle bin has to load everything that hasn't been deleted. You have a virus, the start program is where to look first to see what is loading.

Buy it a pair of trainers!!!

Lol!!!

No seriously, down load and scan with Adaware, Spybot, Etc.,
You have probably got a load of tracking cookies, and other unwanted items on your computer that slows it down.
