Go to a local show in your area. Meet the people that are showing after they are done in the show ring. Every litter that has "show quality" puppies also has puppies of equally good breeding and health. (Pet shops and puppy mills are not concerned about health issues and "breeding out" problems) Also, if you can find someone at the show that actually lives in your area, you can visit where the pup was born and see they lived and were cared for. The first months of a dogs life can effect their health for years to come. (less vet bills for you)

The person above me answered the correct outlets...AKC and the Parent Breed Club websites.Good Luck in finding your new pup. Also on AKC's website you can also locate the breed rescues if you would like to adopt.

Pppssssssssst...go for the deerhound, they last longer. IW's are OLD at 5 or 6 & dead soon after.
Nice dogs but...

Go to SHOWS (infodog.com lists ALL up-coming shows)& *MEET* them in-the-flesh!!!! Talk to the folks who actually KNOW *&* CARE about their breed.
F'rinstance..do you know they're a HAND-STRIPPED breed?

Contact the American Kennel Club (AKC) They should be able to direct you to the nearest reputable breeder.

You could try going to a field trial in your area as well as a show.
