Yes. My understanding is you'll need a passport after the end of the year to travel to Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean.

If you plan on leaving the United States, you're going to need a passport. And pack light, because out-of-country security is extremely strict.

Yep, you are flying internationally, I don't think you need one if you're flying to another state, you just need a form of I.D but yeah you need one.
